We were both born in Phoenix Arizona.  We met at Palmcroft Baptist Church in Phoenix.  We've since been married, moved to San Angelo, Texas, and have had 2 precious babies!  My husband is in the U.S. Air Force.   We have a boy, Jacob, who is 2 yrs old now, and a girl, Jessica, who is 1 year old.  You can see a picture of all of us here!  They are precious!  Both of our families live in Phoenix, until the latter part of this year when Jim's parents will be moving to Texas.  We can't wait for our kids to get to know their grandparents!  We now attend PaulAnn Baptist Church here in San Angelo.  Our pastor is Jeff Lynn.  He's the greatest pastor around we're quite sure!  We have such good friends here, now, this really is our home!
Jim and I are both born again Christians!  We believe in the inerrant, infallible Word of God (The Bible), and in it's everlasting Truth!  We will never stray from this truth.  My husband and I were both raised in this belief, and after many years of searching out the truth for ourselves, we both agree in the truth of the Bible.  If you have questions about what the Bible says about YOU, please read on.  The Bible DOES address you, and God KNOWS you!  He knows you by name, and everything about you.  He wants you to come to a saving knowledge of Him!  Please search Him out...He will come to you when you seek Him!

Do you know for sure that if you were to die today, that you would go to heaven?  1 John 5:13 says, "These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, in order that you may KNOW that you have eternal life."  You CAN know for certain!  The problem is that some of you don't know if you're saved or not.  There are many good moral people who attend church regularly who don't know if they are saved or not!  I'm going to tell you what the Bible says about how YOU can know for sure if you are saved!

You might be asking, "What do I need to be saved from?"  We are saved from 1) the penalty of sin (spiritual death - Romans 6:23); 2) the power of sin, and 3) the presence of sin (eventually).  The Bible says in Romans 3:23 that All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.  That means that each one of us is a sinner, and is in need of salvation.  We can't save ourselves, or do anything on our own to merit salvation or God's grace.  The Bible says in Romans 6:23 that "The wages of sin is death..."  That's the penalty for sin...spiritual death.  But, there IS good news!  Romans 5:8 says "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."  Christ took upon Himself the sin of the entire world, past, present and future!  He died, and was buried, and rose again to pay the penalty for sin, and to purchase a place in heaven which He offers to us.  What do we have to do?  Romans 10:9-10 says "that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved;  for with the heart man believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation."  You must believe with your heart, and confess with your mouth that Jesus is God, that He died, was buried, and rose again.  That's all! Many people believe you might be saved because perhaps you've made a decision once in your life to follow Christ.   This is good, and may be true, but there are some evidences that will PROVE your salvation is genuine.  They are:

  • Joy unspeakable in your heart, a peace only God can give (Can be joy in the midst of trials, not necessarily "happiness")
  • A hunger for spiritual things (What kinds of music, literature, etc are you interested in?)
  • Conviction of sin (Do you feel guilty when you sin?)
  • Do you long to obey Christ and honor Him in everything?
  • Do you love other Christians?
  • Do you PRACTICE sin?  (We all sin occasionally, but is it a regular practice in your life?)
  • Is there a decreasing pattern of sin in your life?
  • Do you reject this evil world?
  • Has your life shown any change since you accepted Christ?
  • What makes you laugh, and what makes you weep?  (Chuck Swindoll once said Themeasure of a man is in what he laughs at, and what makes him weep.)
Friends, please pray today to allow Christ into your life as Romans 10:9-10 says.  When you do that, email us.  We'd like to know about your decision, and help you in whatever way we can!
